Start your journey with OBE and help us build the future.What You'll Get to DoAs Senior Engineering Manager, you'll lead two interconnected engineering functions from a single management seat, overseeing both Design Engineering (partnering with commercial teams to translate customer requirements into fabrication-ready specs for custom extrusion orders) and Production Engineering (receiving signed contracts and designing all windows to customer specification through delivery). This is a leader-of-leaders role with broad influence over how our engineering group operates, performs, and grows.Key Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, & develop engineering staff through hands-on coaching, structured performance management, & career developmentFoster a culture of engagement, accountability, & trust that strengthens team cohesion & retentionManage the preparation of detailed product layout drawings, bills of material, & related fabrication & component drawings for specific projectsManage the Production Engineering process to maintain budgeted volumes & on-time deliveryOwn the overall coordination of translating customer order information into manufacturing-ready formats bills of materials, cutting information, & drawings used by purchasing & productionCoordinate the manufacturing launch of new & revised products including establishing goals, training team members, & evaluating resultsServe as a technical resource for sales & project management teamsConfer with architects, sales, & dealers on product & installation methods to help define & process project informationWork closely with manufacturing on a daily basis to resolve project-related issues & maintain clear communicationApply product & process analysis methods to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, & operational efficiencyDesign, develop, test, & cost-justify tools, machinery, & equipment to support recommended manufacturing methodsConfer with management, design engineering, & other staff on manufacturing capabilities & new product launch considerationsContinually identify opportunities to reduce engineering revisions & value-engineer projects to improve overall marginsRepresent manufacturing & engineering on cross-functional teamsWhat We Are Looking ForB.S. in Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering required5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment5+ years of experience in engineer-to-order manufacturing3+ years in fabrication, submission applications, or design engineeringStrong organizational & project planning skills, including scheduling & performance metric ownershipBackground in building, construction, remodel, or retrofit industriesExposure to architectural metals, sheet metal, or structural glazing adjacent fabricationFamiliarity with CNC or production software inputsKaizen & Lean Manufacturing experience a plusWhat OBE Offers YouBenefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employeeWork-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can chooseCompensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonusesTraining – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed
