A growing independent pharmacy near Northridge, CA is seeking a part-time pharmacist to support their team. This direct hire opportunity offers a flexible schedule with work every other weekend plus 2-3 weekdays, ideal for professionals seeking work-life balance while applying their pharmacy expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions following federal and state regulations, ensuring accuracy in dosage, strength, patient allergies, disease states, drug interactions, and formularies.
• Provide clinical and therapeutic recommendations to physicians, nurses, and patients as needed.
• Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from client facilities and healthcare providers.
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in billing and documentation by obtaining and verifying necessary information.
• Sign for and verify receipt of medications and supplies from wholesalers and suppliers.
• Organize, maintain, and audit controlled substance records.
• Verify and maintain Emergency Kits, including checking product accuracy, expiration dates, and condition.
• Support pharmacy safety standards and procedures.
• Participate in pharmacy inspections, surveys, and audits by authorized agencies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current and good standing California pharmacist license required.
• Experience with long-term care (LTC) pharmacy and multi-dose prescription filling strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare providers and staff.
• Ability to lead and supervise pharmacy technicians effectively.

Schedule:

• Every other weekend
• 2-3 weekdays per week
