Entry Phlebotomist I / Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC)Location: Sarasota, FL Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Rotational Saturdays: 6:00 AM to 11:00 AMJob SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and customer-focused Entry Phlebotomist I / Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) to join our team in Sarasota, FL. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, creating a welcoming and supportive environment while assisting with patient check-ins and coordinating lobby activities.The ideal candidate will combine exceptional customer service skills with basic phlebotomy experience to ensure patients receive a positive and seamless experience. This position is primarily focused on patient engagement in the lobby while also providing phlebotomy support during breaks, staffing shortages, and operational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet patients professionally and warmly upon arrival.Assist patients with the check-in process using self-service kiosks and handheld tablets.Answer patient questions and address concerns with care, compassion, and professionalism.Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming lobby environment.Support patient flow and ensure a positive waiting experience.Provide phlebotomy coverage during breaks and staffing shortages as needed.Perform specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures and quality standards.Explain procedures to patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit.Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information.Adhere to safety, compliance, confidentiality, and quality standards.Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.Perform daily activities accurately and within designated timelines under the direction of the supervisor.Show a willingness to learn and develop additional skills within the organization.Required QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent required (No exceptions).ExperienceSome phlebotomy experience required (including internship, externship, clinical training, or hands-on experience).Minimum 1-2 years of customer-facing experience required (Retail, Healthcare, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, or similar environments).Keyboarding and data entry experience required.Skills & CompetenciesExceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to interact with patients with empathy, care, and professionalism.Strong communication skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Comfortable working both in a lobby setting and patient draw room.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.Preferred Candidate ProfileExperience working directly with patients in healthcare, retail, hospitality, or service-oriented roles.Basic understanding of specimen collection and processing procedures.Passion for delivering an outstanding patient experience.Important NoteThis is primarily a Lobby Greeter/Patient Experience role focused on assisting patients with kiosk check-ins, answering questions, and helping patients feel comfortable while waiting for services. The selected candidate will also provide phlebotomy coverage for breaks and staffing needs, making strong customer service skills the most critical requirement for success in this position.
