Study Physician, Immunology

AstraZeneca seeks a Study Physician to serve as clinical authority for immunology and rheumatology clinical-development programs. The role involves overseeing cell-therapy and immunotherapy assets from early phases through pivotal trials, managing safety assessments, and collaborating across functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert medical input on cell-therapy and immunotherapy assets; lead study design, delivery, and interpretation through pivotal phases
• Assess causality, severity, and benefit-risk for safety events; own clinical data review and safety monitoring including SAEs and SUSARs
• Represent studies at Safety Review Committee, IDMC/DMC, and internal governance; adjudicate complex clinical cases
• Support clinical development strategy from target identification through late phase with cross-functional alignment
• Provide clinical expertise to research, pharmacology, regulatory, biostatistics, and commercial colleagues; contribute medical content to regulatory documents

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree plus 8 years' experience in immunology or neuroimmunology
• Postgraduate subspecialty training and board certification in relevant field, preferably with attending-level clinical positions
• Prior biotechnology or pharmaceutical clinical-development experience with hands-on trial oversight
• Sound understanding of drug-development processes, clinical research methodology, and biostatistics
• Knowledge of FDA, EMA, MHRA, and ICH GCP guidelines for global clinical studies
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder influence, and ability to operate with autonomy in complex organizations
• Cell-therapy experience, CAR-T, engineered cell therapies, or T-cell engagers (ideal)

Compensation: $203,709.60 - $305,564.40 USD annual base
