The student, who is developmentally delayed and self-contained, benefits greatly from skilled intervention. Your expertise will contribute profoundly to their learning journey and personal growth. Sessions can be scheduled at your convenience between 9:30 am and 2:45 pm, offering both autonomy and adaptability within the school day.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Understanding of AAC devices and supportive technology for nonverbal students
- Patience, empathy, and dedication to working with children on the autism spectrum
- Ability to develop individualized strategies to support developmental and behavioral needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services focusing on functional skills, sensory needs, and self-regulation
- Collaborate with the educational team to adapt strategies and tools for an optimal learning environment
- Document progress and adapt plans based on observed changes and goals
- Offer suggestions for classroom modifications and assistive supports
This contract position offers an incredibly flexible schedule, the satisfaction of making a difference, and the chance to work closely with a supportive educational team.
