Assistant Program Supervisor

Description

Work Performed : Assistant Program Supervisor provides continued care and supervision of program participants, including but not limited to physical and personal assistance in toileting, transfers, feeding and personal care. Support curriculum development and lead daily activities. Assist Program Supervisor with daily attendance and the maintenance of daily and monthly documentation and billing. Act as the Program Supervisor and assume coordinating responsibilities in the Program Supervisor's absence. Work with Program Supervisor on new participant admissions, including screening referrals, providing tours, assisting prospective in completing the admissions process. Attend RCOC meetings as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used : Appropriate therapeutic equipment to include; gait belt, walker, wheelchair, canes, exercise weights. Activity materials to include but not limited to; pens, pencils, markers, worksheets, games, art/craft supplies. Office equipment to include; telephone, copy machine, calculator, eFax, and computer.


Position Qualification : At least 1 year of supervisory experience and 1 year of recent and continuous experience working with disabled adults in a rehabilitation and/or geriatric setting. Excellent verbal and written skills required. Ability to handle as well as supervise multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to facilitate educational and discussion-based activity groups. Activity Certification preferred. CPR and First Aid certification required. Must be able to perform all job functions.

Essential Functions of The Job : Ability to provide for the direct care of participants (includes providing hands on care in addition to visual/auditory supervision to ensure the safety and welfare of the participants at all times). Able to assist Program Supervisor with managing all aspects of the day program. Must be able to plan, organize, and instruct effectively. Must have good writing and verbal communications in order to communicate clearly with participants, families and staff. Ability to facilitate a variety of activities (indoor and outdoor) under the direction of the Program Supervisor. Must project a positive company image by maintaining professional appearance, attire, attitude, and conduct.


Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, walk, lift, transfer, and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push as needed to provide direct care. Visual skills acceptable for providing supervision and the ability to hear participant/staff instruction. Ability to walk on varied terrain which includes carpet, tile, concrete, dirt, and grass. Ability to work within the program area which includes reaching for charts, supplies and retrieving and replacing items on shelves.

Method Of Pay : Hourly, NON-EXEMPT

Hours Of Work : 40 hours a week 7:30 - 4:00, M-F
