Job Summary:
The surgical technician specialty position is located in Lafayette, Colorado. This role involves performing various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure safe and successful operative procedures. The technician will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and support system-wide and surgical operations initiatives.

Job Details:

• Maintains accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintains the sterile field and ensures a safe environment.
• Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepares the operating room and instruments for the surgical procedure.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Assists the surgeon(s) during the procedure while staying within the Operating Room Technician scope of practice.
• Can identify emergency situations and exercises judgment when implementing procedures to respond to emergencies.
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure upon completion of the procedure.
• Schedule: Days, 10 hours shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months; OR two years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years; OR 2 years of surgical tech experience. Valid CO License (DORA) and NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist certification required. BLS (AHA) certification required.
