Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical / Oncology

Schedule

12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week schedule period.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 12 weeks; guaranteed hours per week: 36.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.
• Acute care experience must be current, worked consistently within the last 12 months, and in the specialty applied for.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Telemetry/PCU or MS-Tele experience, IV start/maintenance, blood product administration, PCA management, and dysrhythmia interpretation are desirable clinical skills.
• Must have valid state or compact nursing license at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity care to adult and geriatric patients with solid tumors and some hematologic cancers.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members such as PT, RT, and Pharmacy for comprehensive patient care.
• Manage telemetry monitoring and intervention for patients as needed.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies and blood products, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform nursing assessments and document patient care accurately.
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as required.

Compliance / Notes

Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or director. Strict credentialing and fingerprinting requirements apply, and candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as possible after booking. Return-to-work policies must be included with submissions.
