About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical (Telemetry)

Boston, MA | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating shifts (8-hour and 12-hour) | Days, Evenings, and Nights | Every other weekend and holidays required | No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of a medical-surgical float pool, supporting up to 15 specialized units including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN/GU, orthopedics, oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular
• Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs , Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Administer nebulizer treatments; ventilator management is handled by Respiratory Therapy
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic electronic health record system
• Adapt to varying unit assignments within the float pool; unit assignments may be communicated up to 2 hours prior to shift start
• Rotate across day, evening, and night shifts, including every other weekend and required holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of related nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• CPR certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Specialty area expertise in one or more of the supported service lines (e.g., neurology, cardiac, oncology, transplant, vascular)
• Comfort navigating web-based clinical applications
