Graphic Designer Prepress Technician

Duties

• Process print job orders sent from clients via pdf or native layout software
• Review and troubleshoot client files for print production and proper bleeds, separations, etc.
• Make necessary adjustments or edits if needed after proof stage
• Create hard copy proofs for client review as well as send email proofs and follow up calls
• Make appropriate plates for both of our offset presses as well as create impositions for our digital press
• Understand paper stocks and manage inventory and cut paper and proofs for orders
• Design skills are preferred but not a must as you may be asked to create layouts and designs
• Attention to detail

Software

• Experience with Apogee Prepress Workflow or Fuji XMF Preferred
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Extensis Suitcase Font management
• Experience with Command Workstation Digital Workflow also a plus
• Adobe Acrobat and Enfocus Pitstop background also a plus

This position is for someone that is a self-starter who is motivated to process jobs and move them quickly and accurately through the print shop. Having good communication skills with sales reps as well as clients in order to fit their needs. Some projects may come along that may need design work but mostly this is production output in order to maintain a steady flow across the plant.

Salary Range:

40-45K Depending on exp.
