Department/Unit Summary 
\n -    Provides direct patient care using the nursing process and supports unit coordination activities to promote safe, high-quality outcomes. Serves as a resource to staff and assists with scheduling, education, and performance initiatives. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
\n -    Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
\n -    Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow.
\n -    Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
\n -    Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
\n -    Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements.
\n -    Provides direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
\n -    Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
\n -    Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
\n -    Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
\n -    Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements 
\n Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
\n -    Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
\n -    ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. 
\n -    One year of experience preferred
