Sub Custodian Summer Help 8 Positions July 7, 2026-August 14, 2026 JobID: 6377 Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Custodian: General Date Posted: 6/8/2026 Location: District-Wide (High-Needs School) Position Description Performs cleaning and custodial tasks, including working as part of a team to deep‑clean spaces during the summer. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs summer maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, painting, etc.) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer construction. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture. Cuts grass and trims shrubs. Duties directly related to purpose of job Sweep, mop, wet‑wash and vacuum floors. Polish floors using a buffing machine. Wash walls, ceilings and inside windows by hand. May wash outside windows. Gather and dispose of trash, wash wastebaskets and large refuse containers. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures, replace disposable products, such as toilet paper and paper towels, and soap. Assist in repair to building, grounds and equipment. Assist in moving equipment Assemble cleaning supplies and equipment needed for the performance of above tasks. Assumes such other functions as directed by the Director of Facilities. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Makes contact with the public with tact and diplomacy Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., home and discipline situations, medical background and family history Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Knowledge of the use and care of common maintenance and custodial tools, materials, and equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working conditions with students, staff and the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to follow both oral and written directions from supervisor with a minimum of supervision. Be able to lift various reasonable heavy objects for weight and size, climb ladders and generally perform tasks that involve moderately strenuous work. High school diploma or GED. Previous work experience or training as a custodian preferred. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
