CNC Machinist

Shift: Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

JOB SUMMARY

Utilize engineering blueprints and CNC programs to produce machined parts using CNC cutting equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ability to set up and operate CNC Machines independently as well as using machine tool setup sheets.
2. Accurately interpret engineering drawings and determine machining methods to meet required part tolerances, fit, and finish.
3. Knowledge of G-code, speeds, and feed rates appropriate for different materials.
4. Cooperate with CNC Programmers on machine tool set-up, troubleshooting and improving programs to maintain machine productivity.
5. Competently use all precision measuring instruments and contribute to JST's quality program by following quality procedures.
6. Utilize a Personal Computer and shop floor control software to accurately track job labor and material usage.
7. Understand and follow company procedures and act in a safe manner in a manufacturing environment.
8. Maintain stewardship of equipment and contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the shop.
9. Perform miscellaneous tasks as required to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, and quoting departments.
10. Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members and assist engineering with design for manufacturability. Communicate design constraints and work within the team to achieve solutions.
11. Able to safely lift and carry, push or pull objects up to 50lbs.
12. Able to walk, stand and work on feet for the duration of shift.
13. Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, grasp, handle and operate hand/power tools or controls.
14. Responsible for other duties and task as assigned and, in some circumstances, may be completely unrelated to this position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES

• CNC Cutting Machine operation experience.
• Able to read blueprints and have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Must be competent in shop math, including algebra and trigonometry.
• Experience cutting stainless steels and plastics a plus.
• Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work and contribute within a team.
