About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Charlottesville, Virginia, 22903!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role required. License: Valid state nursing license required, pending licenses accepted. Certifications: BLS preferred; ACLS preferred but not required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Description: This is a 26-bed acute care unit with a diverse patient population. The unit primarily consists of patients recovering from general surgery and trauma. Post-surgical patients make up 90% of the unit's population. The remaining 10% have various medical diagnoses. All patient rooms are equipped for cardiac monitoring and continuous pulse oximetry. The staffing ratio is typically 1 nurse to 4 patients, with occasional ratios of 1 to 5. Support roles include Certified Nursing Assistants and a Unit Secretary. Nursing staff will receive support from an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Wound care is managed by a specialized team available seven days a week. Candidates must be able to float to other acute care units as needed. Every other weekend and holiday availability is required. Experience with trauma care is preferred, particularly in a surgical setting. Applicants should have experience in managing various medical procedures such as central line care and telemetry monitoring. The daily census in the unit averages around 22 patients. Wound care team support is strong, ensuring comprehensive care for patients. The charge nurse will provide additional assistance as needed. This role requires adherence to established float policies and guidelines. Candidates are encouraged to apply if they meet the necessary qualifications.
