Summary As VP, Experience Design, you will lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary Design Team, owning the strategy, technical execution, and overall design of Cosm’s vast array of digital experiences. This is a senior leadership role focused on guiding teams and shaping the overall vision and technical execution of the Cosm Experience. Your top priority will be leading and empowering exceptional talent while ensuring that the design system, core technology, and corporate strategy are aligned to deliver the highest-quality immersive experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of immersive storytelling, interactive design, and technical delivery, coupled with a strong business acumen and proven ability to scale teams. You will be at the forefront of transforming how audiences engage with content by integrating real-time data, generative AI, spatial computing, and cutting‑edge design techniques. This is an executive‑level position that requires advanced strategic thinking along with a humble willingness to roll up the sleeves and do what needs to be done. This role demands a unique blend of creativity, leadership, technical ability, and a forward‑thinking mindset, as you will be responsible for integrating the latest creative trends and technological advancements to keep Cosm at the leading edge of immersive entertainment experiences. Responsibilities Build, lead, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of exceptionally talented technical artists, animators, motion graphics designers, and product designers focusing on strategy, operational excellence, and technical innovation. Master Cosm's proprietary toolset to lead the technical integration and performance optimization of immersive assets across our custom display systems. Set the strategic vision for immersive environments, including real‑time visual experiences and interactive sports content across all venue displays using Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, and AI‑assisted platforms. Cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors, content creators, and industry stakeholders to explore new opportunities and drive business growth. Partner with Venues and Media teams to understand business objectives and fan experiences, translating them into a cohesive technical design strategy. Stay current with the latest Unreal Engine features, tools, and industry trends, integrating new techniques into the development process. Create the highest‑quality real‑time visual effects, both in appearance and performance, while adhering to Cosm’s broader artistic vision. Collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to bridge the gap between art and technology, ensuring smooth workflows and rapid asset delivery. Oversee technical and creative challenges related to real‑time graphics, lighting, and shading. Work closely with Product leadership to elevate the team’s output and establish a high bar for creative excellence. Drive operational excellence by implementing scalable workflows, high‑quality standards, and cross‑team collaboration practices. Own Cosm’s creative integrity, and champion our design system and overall creative vision both internally and externally. Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. An MBA or a Master’s degree is a plus. 10+ years of experience successfully leading and managing large multi-disciplinary design teams as a manager of managers. 15+ years of experiencedeveloping innovative and engaging consumer‑facing experiential concepts across digital platforms and physical venues. Experience operating a design function as a high-performance business unit, with a track record of aligning creative strategy directly to revenue-generating streams such as sponsorships, branded entertainment, and private event activations. Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing immersive design experiences and overall creative execution. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated expertise in applying AI in creative workflows — from generative image/video to behavior modeling and interactive systems. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with artists, designers, and engineers. Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine, with experience in shaders, materials, lighting, and visual effects. Advanced proficiency in relevant design software (ex. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and additional 3D engines, etc.). Reliable decision-making capabilities, based on a solid understanding of how to balance creative expression, executable designs, and business needs. Ability to seed and generate a larger, sustainable, holistic vision across platforms, locations, and various competing initiatives. Experience developing interactive or immersive digital sports experiences is a plus. The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $215,000 to $260,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may vary by geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
