Junior High School Resource Teacher

Summary Grapeland Junior High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior High School Resource Teacher to join our team. This full-time position is designed for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment that fosters academic growth and personal development for all students. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Provide direct support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings, focusing on skill development and academic achievement. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation of student performance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs, evaluate progress, and adjust IEPs as necessary. Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide programs that promote inclusivity and support for students with disabilities. Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and self-advocacy. Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide additional support for students and families. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Valid state teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education. Experience working with junior high school students, preferably in a resource or inclusive setting. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students.
