Associate Director, US Site Payment Operations, Operations Lead

Associate Director leading U.S. site payment operations for clinical trials at a pharmaceutical company. Responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, compliant payments to trial sites while managing operational teams, performance metrics, and strategic improvements across regional and global payment processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead U.S. site payment execution and translate global direction into consistent day-to-day operations
- Own payment performance including timeliness, accuracy, backlog management, and service outcomes
- Lead, coach, and coordinate payment operations teams with clear accountabilities and performance expectations
- Monitor operational data, identify performance variations, and implement corrective actions
- Diagnose execution issues and escalate systemic problems to appropriate strategic owners for resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (scientific, business, or related discipline); advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years clinical research experience in pharma/biotech with site payments or trial financial operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead operational teams and deliver reliable service outcomes in matrixed environments
- Knowledge of GCP/ICH, Fair Market Value principles, and compliant clinical trial payment practices
- Strong data analysis and stakeholder communication skills across functions and geographies
- Sound judgment in payment risk assessment and operational issue escalation and resolution
