Traumatic Brain Injury ( TBI ) UnitDirector - Licensed Social Worker Position Overview The Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit Director provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of a specialized skilled nursing unit serving residents with traumatic brain injuries and complex neurological conditions. The Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, program development, behavioral management, family engagement, and achievement of operational goals. The ideal candidate is a Licensed Social Worker with experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or neurological services and possesses a passion for improving outcomes and quality of life for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Key Responsibilities Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning and resident-centered treatment approaches. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and medical providers to ensure comprehensive care. Develop and implement individualized behavioral and psychosocial interventions. Monitor resident progress and support successful goal attainment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work. Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or neurological services. Experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, cognitive impairments, or complex behavioral health needs. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care regulations. Preferred Previous leadership or management experience. Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) credential or willingness to obtain.
