Grant Accountant St. Petersburg, Florida (Hybrid) Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 Why This Opportunity Stands Out: Join one of the largest and most progressive nonprofit organizations, making a direct impact in the community every day Play a critical role in ensuring compliance and financial stewardship for a diverse portfolio of federal, state, and local grants Partner closely with program leaders, finance leadership, and external funding agencies to support mission-driven initiatives Opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with strong leadership and ongoing organizational growth Excellent benefits including approximately 4 weeks PTO, 100% employer-paid health insurance for employees, HSA contributions, and 401(k) match Stable organization with a strong local reputation and a mission that attracts passionate, purpose-driven professionals Key Responsibilities: Manage the full lifecycle of grant accounting activities, including budget tracking, expense monitoring, reimbursement requests, grant reporting, and compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding requirements Prepare and reconcile grant-related financial reports, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses in accordance with grant agreements and organizational policies Collaborate with program managers and department leaders to monitor grant spending, identify budget variances, and provide financial guidance to maximize funding utilization Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, grant revenue recognition, and preparation of schedules for audits and financial reporting Maintain grant records within MIP, support external audits and funder reviews, and assist with process improvements that strengthen internal controls and financial compliance Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, including nonprofit and grant accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of grant compliance, cost allocations, and reimbursement-based funding Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software preferred Proficient in Excel and financial reportingStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Financial Staffing, LLC
