Summary:

Provides direct spiritual care counsel and support for patients families and employees of the Memorial Healthcare System.

Responsibilities:

Attends emergency codes and critical events as needed or clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings working alongside medical and support staff as a direct care rituals and sacramental rites according to patient/family need or with various administrative tasks supporting the spiritual care program of a given hospital day-to-day schedule of pastoral care rounding on patients according to need and house public services as well as spiritual support groups as needed or and attends to spiritual needs of patients family and staff accommodating varied faith traditions and on-call chaplain coverage (nights/weekends) according to need or established spiritual services to patients and families across multiple hospital departments (Adult and Pediatric) using a Patient and Family Centered approach.

Bachelors: Theology (Required)

Works effectively in stressful and crisis situations giving particular attention to the support of and communication with clinical Work Experience: Must have at least one (1) year work volunteer or community service experience in ministry. Hospital experience and bilingual in English/Spanish is Information: CPE or equivalent Education Info: Bachelors degree in Theology or relevant field of study.
