Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Clinical Nurse Raleigh, North Carolina. The Clinical Nurse provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards within a hospital setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process and nursing standards. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week (Outpatient Infusion schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM).
• Required Qualifications: One (1) year of nursing experience; Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing; Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC); demonstrates readiness to learn assessment, patient education, and the nursing process.
• Preferred Qualifications: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates patient care by organizing and prioritizing care based on patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates patient education materials relevant to the patient population and assesses the patient/family/caregivers readiness to learn, including developmental level and factors affecting learning.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team collaboration to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care through effective communication systems.
  • Supports care planning by collaborating with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care, including cultural and ethnic issue identification.
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan and synthesizes assessment data into a meaningful whole prior to communication.
  • Anticipates discharge needs for patients and families and develops relationships that support patient advocacy and self-advocacy.
  • Consults with appropriate resources in a timely fashion for patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or those at high risk for discharge planning.
  • Promotes professional growth by supporting goal setting and participating in performance improvement activities.
  • Reads professional journals to identify applicable studies or articles and brings ideas/questions to staff for assessment of applicability.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment and adheres to healthcare organization and nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
