Bilingual Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
God's Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area's leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, God's Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God's Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client's severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God's Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Oversee the maintain of up to date job descriptions. Create job postings for the God's Love We Deliver career website, ADP and LinkedIn.
- Review applications to determine a pool of qualified candidates.
- Work with hiring manager(s) regarding the steps/timeline of the interview process.
- Conduct initial screening interviews with qualified candidates.
- Manage the recruitment process with candidates in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate levels of communication with candidates, hiring managers and interviewers.
- Conduct writing exercises with final candidates as appropriate.
- Conduct reference checks.
- Facilitate employment offers and clearly outlining employment terms (compensation and benefits package) with candidates.
- Oversee the background check process in compliance with FCRA and the NYC FCA.
- Ensure all new hire paperwork and compliance requirement are met and completed timely.
Benefits Management:
- Manage invoices ensuring correct employee charges/allocations and creates invoices with expenses charged by department.
- Enroll and terminate employees from benefit plans. Troubleshoot enrollment issues including those related to qualifying events and court orders.
- Review preliminary renewal data and make suggestions on plan changes. Complete all census data required for bidding.
- Coordinate open enrollment and ensure accurate enrollment changes including entry of all changes into provider systems and creation of master file of changes. Ensure all employees have completed required paperwork.
- Complete Worker's Compensation injury reports. Coordinate with Facilities for OSHA filing.
- Provide FMLA/disability paperwork to employees and follows up on required paperwork and filings. Review payments to employees to ensure that they are correct.
- Conduct employee benefits orientation for newly eligible staff. Create and maintain up to date benefits information for new hires.
- Manage all ACA reporting as required by Affordable Care Act.
Employee Relations:
- Provide high-touch support to all employees and ensure that all requests are handled in a timely manner, with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance for all employee inquiries; provide a warm, supportive environment to ensure all employees have trust and confidence in the HR team.
- Counsel and advise Managers regarding employment-related matters including performance management, disciplinary warnings, terminations, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, use of accrued time off, avoiding discrimination and harassment, interpretation of employment policies and processes.
HRIS Data and Reports:
- Assist team in ensuring HR data integrity in HRIS/payroll database.
- Provide oversight and audit of HR data.
- Ensure paperwork for all transactions is completed accurately and timely and is maintained appropriately.
- Produce reports as needed from the HRIS/payroll system.
- Maintain employee listings and benefits files.
- Assist in providing documentation during 403(b) and other audits.
Payroll:
- Train new employees in using the ADP Timekeeping system. Provide technical assistance in the use of ADP to staff.
- Update employee records in HRIS system as necessary.
- Respond to employee inquiries about payroll and benefits matters.
- Review all garnishments and court orders and execute them as required.
- Complete audits of payroll data to ensure overall integrity and accuracy.
- Process salary advance requests, including obtaining requisite approvals and preparing documentation for employees.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of HR experience with exposure to the full employment life cycle
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in direct recruiting of staff
- Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in analyzing and sharing data that others may easily understand
- Knowledge of federal, local and state employment laws
- Deep expertise in HRIS systems is a plus; expertise in ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Capable of prioritizing multiple demands and exercising strong time management skills with acute attention to detail; work with a sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
- Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion, and to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to be empathetic yet direct, with excellent listening skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to communicate confidently with employees at every level
