• Healthcare Setting: Academic hospital / Level 1 trauma center neurosciences unit
• Schedule: Nights only, 7-on/7-off pattern
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

• Work Environment: Busy inpatient neurosciences service with strong team support and meaningful patient variety

Job Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner license required
• Board certification required
• DEA required
• ACLS and BLS required
• At least 1 year of neurology , neuroscience , or inpatient APP experience required; 2 years preferred
• Experience rounding and providing consultative inpatient care preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment and hit the ground running
• Comfort with Epic documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Willingness to support compact licensing candidates, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care for neurology, neurosurgery, and stroke patients
• Complete daily rounds, assessments, and treatment plan development
• Manage consults for neurologic concerns including altered mental status, seizures, focal deficits, headache, and post-operative neurologic changes
• Support acute stroke workflows and ongoing stroke management
• Perform and assist with inpatient bedside procedures as appropriate, such as lumbar puncture support, wound assessment, dressing changes, drain management, and line access tasks
• Collaborate closely with physicians, residents, nursing, and other care teams to coordinate timely follow-up and continuity of care
• Document evaluations, recommendations, and patient progress clearly and efficiently in Epic
• Help optimize pre-operative and post-operative patients while monitoring for complications and supporting safe transitions of care
