About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC experience required; Trauma level 2 or higher preferred Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process and nursing trends. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Accurate documentation of nursing care provided is essential to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Patient and employee safety is prioritized by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Effective communication with others is essential to resolve issues directly and privately when necessary. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. Identifying personal learning needs and taking initiative for solutions is important. Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies is necessary. The RN implements procedures and theories specific to emergency nursing. Patient assessment and developing care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patients are essential. Executing the plan of care and nursing interventions is a core responsibility. The RN modifies care plans based on continuous assessment. The RN is responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions and adhering to safety standards. Effective communication and collaboration with staff, visitors, and families promote a healthy work environment. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation is required. A two-week night rotation is required of all travelers. No block scheduling is available.
