Accounting Intern

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our construction finance team. This role is designed for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting operations, including accounts payable, expense tracking, vendor management, and general finance administration. The Accounting Intern will work closely with the accounting team to support day-to-day functions and learn core accounting processes in a professional environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment posting, and expense tracking. Support processing of employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions. Help maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and documentation. Assist with vendor communications and respond to basic inquiries regarding billing and payment status. Support bank and account reconciliations under supervision. Help organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial documents. Assist the accounting team with monthly closing activities and reporting tasks. Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing requested documentation. Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, and document organization. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Prior internship, coursework, or part-time experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred but not required. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Exposure to accounting software (e.g., Sage, HH2, or similar) is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Good organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
