Sterile Processing Tech

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments and devices. This role includes scope reprocessing and requires experience in a variety of cases including neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN.

Shift Details

Schedule: 5x8, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends are mandatory.

Call Requirements: All technicians will be required to take call at least once every two months, starting from 7:00 AM Saturday morning until 7:00 AM Monday.

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in sterile processing is required.

First-Timers: First-time candidates will not be accepted.

Trauma Experience: Experience at a Level 1 trauma center is required.

Certifications: Candidates must hold national certifications from either CBSPD or HSPA.

BLS: Basic Life Support certification is not required.

Additional Information

Local Radius: Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius.

Local Acceptance: Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

RTO Restrictions: All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of submission. No RTO will be approved after the contract is signed.

Guaranteed Hours: The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.

Emergency Preparedness

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. This period extends from June through November, with peak activity occurring in August and September. Candidates should avoid confirming new or extended assignments during this time if this poses a problem.
