VANCHCS is an integrated health care delivery system, offering medical, surgical, rehabilitative, mental health, and extended care to Veterans across Northern California. The health system is made up of 12 sites of care, including a medical center in Sacramento; a rehabilitation and extended care facility in Martinez, and 10 outpatient clinics. VANCHCS serves an area covering 17 counties, about 30,000 square miles, and about 175,000 Veterans.

Emergency Department Staff Nurse assesses the patient's immediate needs, prioritizes care and organizes and plans the patient's treatment from admission into the Emergency Department through discharge. The Emergency Department Staff Nurse coordinates and facilitates care to restore optimal patient health, minimizing complications, to achieve a positive patient outcome. The Staff Nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the many patients that are treated in the Emergency Department. The Staff Nurse (depending on education, experience, and competency) may be assigned responsibilities as preceptor, educator, or charge nurse. NOTE: ACLS is a must.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• United States Citizenship
• Minimum of 1-year recent experience in the ER
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice in any US State or Territory
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC desired
