Campus Ministry & Special Education Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Part‑Time Teacher / Building Substitute & Campus Minister supports the academic and spiritual life of the school by serving as the on‑site building substitute teacher and coordinating campus ministry activities, with a primary focus on school liturgies and faith formation. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to Catholic identity and mission. Primary Responsibilities Building Substitute Responsibilities Serve as the on-site building substitute teacher, providing classroom coverage as needed. Be available for substitute assignments communicated via phone call to personal cell phone by 7:00 a.m. Follow provided lesson plans and maintain a positive, structured learning environment. Support students’ academic and behavioral needs in alignment with school expectations. Communicate any concerns or notable updates to school administration. Campus Minister Responsibilities Liturgical Planning & Coordination Maintain active subscriptions and utilize resources from United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and Faith Catholic. Maintain and update the School Mass Planning Document, including: Mass readings Petitions Introductions and roles Prepare Mass programs for school liturgies. Maintain an up-to-date altar server roster and assign students to Mass roles. Coordinate and schedule altar server training. Support and assist with student faith formation. Collaboration & Communication Communicate and coordinate regularly with Cristina and Reggie, who prepare the church for Mass. Coordinate with Miss Sara, who provides music for school Masses. Ensure all participants have timely and accurate information prior to each Mass. Serve as a point of contact for liturgy-related questions and logistics. Qualifications Practicing Catholic who supports and models the teachings of the Catholic Church. Experience working with children in an educational or faith-based setting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and parish partners. Flexibility and reliability, particularly for early‑morning substitute coverage. Teaching license preferred (for substitute teaching), or eligibility per school requirements. Work Schedule Part‑time, school‑day schedule. Availability required for substitute calls by 7:00 a.m. Additional time as needed for Mass preparation and coordination. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Catholic identity of PJPII Catholic School by ensuring reverent, well‑organized liturgies and providing consistent instructional support to students. Special Education Coordinator Position Summary For Special Education Coordinator supports the school’s commitment to serving students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on coordination, compliance, collaboration, and student support rather than full‑time classroom instruction. The coordinator works closely with the principal, teachers, service providers, and families to ensure that students receiving special education and related services are supported in alignment with school policies and applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities Special Education Coordination & Compliance Coordinate special education services for eligible students. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including IEPs, ISP/Service Plans, evaluation reports, and progress documentation. Ensure timelines and documentation requirements are met for evaluations, meetings, and service delivery. Support compliance with archdiocesan and applicable state or federal guidelines for non‑public schools. Student Support & Monitoring Monitor student progress toward IEP/ISP goals and collaborate with teachers on instructional accommodations and modifications. Assist in developing and reviewing accommodation plans for classroom implementation. Support data collection and progress monitoring as needed. Collaboration & Communication Serve as a liaison between families, classroom teachers, related service providers, and administration. Participate in IEP/ISP meetings, case conferences, and parent meetings as appropriate. Communicate regularly with the principal regarding student needs, staffing considerations, and service delivery. Teacher Support & Professional Collaboration Consult with teachers to support inclusive practices and effective accommodations. Provide guidance on behavior supports, instructional strategies, and classroom interventions. Support staff understanding of special education processes and documentation. Service Provider Coordination Coordinate schedules and communication with external service providers (e.g., speech, occupational therapy, counseling). Ensure services are delivered as scheduled and documented appropriately. Additional Duties Support transition planning for students entering or exiting services. Assist with reporting or audits as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Valid teaching license required; special education endorsement strongly preferred. Experience working with students with special needs. Knowledge of IEP/ISP processes and special education compliance. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Alignment with the mission and values of a Catholic school. Work Schedule & Compensation Part‑time, hourly position. Schedule determined based on student needs and service requirements. Compensation commensurate with experience and responsibilities. Physical & Professional Expectations Ability to attend meetings during and/or outside the school day as needed.
