Responsibilities
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Manage collections and send payment reminders as needed
- Prepare and submit billing to government agencies and private funding sources
- Reconcile billing data across multiple systems to ensure accuracy
- Maintain organized and accurate billing records and reports
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies
- Track and bill transportation-related services
- Prepare and post weekly deposits
- Respond to billing and accounts receivable inquiries from staff, families, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Assist with audits and compliance-related documentation
- Support special projects and additional accounting functions as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Billing and/or Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience processing invoices, payment applications, collections, and reconciliations
- Experience billing government agencies, insurance companies, or similar funding sources preferred
- Nonprofit accounting experience a plus
- Experience with Blackbaud or similar billing/accounting software highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic reporting functions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay
- $24-$27 per hour, based on experience
- Temp-to-permanent opportunity
Schedule / Shift
- Monday-Friday
- 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Fully onsite in Madison, CT
