Controller | Huntsville, ALJoin a stable, growing organization with a collaborative, family-oriented culture Excellent work-life balance with a typical 40–45-hour work week Highly visible leadership role partnering directly with executive leadership Opportunity to influence operations, drive continuous improvement, and make a measurable business impact Accessible leadership, strong mentorship, and long-term career growth What You'll DoLead all accounting and finance functions for the facility, serving as the primary financial partner to executive and operational leadership Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely analysis Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis while providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, labor and material variances, and manufacturing performance metrics Develop financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reports to support strategic decision-making Partner with operations to identify cost-saving initiatives, improve efficiencies, and support capital investment decisions Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and compliance while supporting audits and regulatory reporting Supervise and develop one accounting team member while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5 years of progressive accounting experience Manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or other operational accounting experience Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost accounting Advanced Excel and ERP experience CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred Previous Controller experience or readiness to step into a Controller role is a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
