Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and compassionate Massage Therapist providing massage therapy to our hospice patients in homes, nursing homes, assisted livings and Tidewell Care Centers covering all of Manatee County to northern Sarasota County as needed.

The Massage Therapist collaborates with the IDT to assess and implement a plan of care for patients and families, with the approval of the physician, to provide palliative massage therapy to patients. This position may assist in the development of a Massage Therapy Program.

What You'll Do

• Provide ongoing assessments of the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient/family and initiate appropriate massage therapy intervention consistent with Empath Health philosophy.
• Maintain clinical records, including, but not limited to, progress notes and patient care plan.
• Educate staff and the community about the role of the Massage Therapist and the use of massage therapy interventions with patients/families
• Travel throughout Manatee County to provide massage therapy in homes, nursing homes, assisted livings and Tidewell Care Centers.

What You'll Need

• Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; 2-4 years paid experience in massage therapy, with emphasis in medical field preferred.
• Preferred: Medical Massage and lymphatic drainage experience
• Licensure: Valid Florida Massage Therapist License, Valid Florida State Driver's License
• Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
• Experience using electronic medical records preferred.
• This role also requires standing for long periods of time, the ability to bend, the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. are all required to successfully perform this role
• For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation, which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee's HR file.
