ED Technician: Adult ED - 36hrs/week, DAYS

Job Overview Department/Unit: Emergency Department Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $43,599.00 - $56,679.00 Responsibilities Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens Assists physicians and nurses providing technical support for patient care Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate supervisor/staff member Assists with the transport of patients to other departments Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems Obtains 12-lead EKGs, discontinues peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks Assists with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes Assists with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings Measures and fits crutches and canes and instructs patients on proper use Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 6 months to 1 year of previous experience as an ED Technician and/or previous EMS experience is desired Honest, punctual, and performs the job in adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct as defined by AMC Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and others Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for various job functions, and occasionally required to sit, kneel, or crouch Job Requirements This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Med Health System, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
