Overview Seeking a junior to midlevel associate with 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience in a computational biology practice and a Ph.D. in a computational biology or life sciences discipline. The role involves advising biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health clients on intellectual property and transactional matters relating to data‑driven innovations in areas such as next generation sequencing, precision diagnostics, digital health, and deep‑learning / generative AI‑assisted drug discovery. The candidate should translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance for patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management in a technology‑driven landscape. Patent bar membership (USPTO registration number) is required, and the candidate must prepare for, take, and pass the patent bar exam either prior to joining or within the first 12 months of hire. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and be an active member of the bar in the state of the Morgan Lewis office for which they are applying. Compensation and Benefits Salary wage ranges vary by location: CA, IL, MA, WA, and Washington, DC between $235,000 and $310,000. Base salary or hourly wage will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on experience, expertise, business needs, and market factors. The total compensation package may include medical, financial, and other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave). For Washington State: The base salary wage range will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on factors such as experience and market conditions.
