Employment Specialist training offered at 6 months worked Bonus potential for Job Coaches at 3 months Summary SAILS Washington Vocational Services provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Job Coach will work with a caseload of Community Inclusion and Individual Employment clients, supporting their volunteer or work activities, documenting progress, and collaborating with the Vocational Services Program Coordinator and Director. Performance Responsibilities and Standards Support a caseload of clients qualifying for Vocational and Community Inclusion services. Assist employers in identifying, setting up, and facilitating jobs for clients. Identify clients’ job interests. Provide job coaching and promote career development to improve job skills. Promote and facilitate social integration between clients and other employees, collaborating with supervisors/managers. Provide career counseling and behavioral intervention to enhance job performance and relationships with co‑workers and customers. Achieve proficient use of Dayforce and Setworks within 90 days of hire. Maintain daily case notes and consistent time entries between Setworks and Dayforce. Prepare a two‑week completed schedule, reviewed by the Program Coordinator and Director, due on the first of the month. Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees to resolve client performance issues. Teach work to clients at job sites using simple, repetitive training methods. Monitor client activity to ensure productivity, completion of tasks, and quality outcomes. Educate clients on company policies and procedures. Report to the Vocational Services Program Coordinator and Director on client progress and training concerns. Communicate with care providers, parents, and guardians regarding issues affecting employment. Participate in client planning teams to develop goals and objectives. Attend client PCSP meetings. Become familiar with client needs and limitations to ensure appropriate accommodations and effective supervision. Notify the Program Coordinator and Director of any client or employer issues promptly and follow reporting guidelines. Work with the Program Coordinator to prepare daily/weekly scheduled job duties for clients. Email weekly documentation of client activities, progress, and support. Maintain accurate mileage entries via the company mileage app. Promote vocational services in compliance with agency policies and state licensing laws. Demonstrate good work ethics and performance. Act as a good example for clients at all times. Perform other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Preferred prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Effective communication skills with clients, families, home staff, and administrative staff. Self‑motivation, self‑direction, organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to meet deadlines. Read, write, and communicate in English. Proficiency in computer use. Complete and stay current on all SAILS training, certifications, documents, and paperwork. Licensing Requirements Valid and active Washington driver licence. Pass a Washington State background check. First Aid/CPR certification within 120 days of employment (training can be provided). Blood‑borne Pathogen certification within 120 days of employment (training can be provided). Ongoing Eligibility Qualifications Complete and pass the background check upon hire and every two years thereafter. Possess a vehicle with current auto insurance. Maintain an acceptable driving record per SAILS Washington policy.
