SAMS Construction Group is seeking a full-time W-2 General Manager / Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for our Los Angeles office. Candidate must hold an active California CSLB Class B General Building Contractor license and be eligible to qualify the company.

Candidate Requirements:

• Active California Class B General Building Contractor License
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing construction projects
• Strong understanding of residential construction and remodeling
• Experience managing construction teams and subcontractors
• Knowledge of California building codes and CSLB requirements
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
• Experience in remodeling, ADU construction, and general contracting
• Experience developing processes and managing operations
• Ability to grow and scale a construction business

Key Responsibilities

RME / CSLB Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for the California Class B General Contractor License.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation for the CSLB.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) .
• Oversee compliance of construction operations with California state laws and regulations.
• Review and sign construction contracts within the authority granted by the Company.

Business Development and Operational Management

• Participate in the strategic development of the Company.
• Scale and grow the construction division.
• Optimize processes and improve profitability.
• Represent the Company with clients, vendors, and business partners.

Oversight of All Construction Operations

• Review project plans, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
• Maintain control over project documentation and records.

Team and Subcontractor Management

• Lead Project Managers, construction employees, and subcontractors.
• Monitor and maintain subcontractor quality standards.
• Participate in hiring, training, and development of the construction team.

Construction Operations Management

• Manage the Company’s daily construction operations.
• Oversee projects from contract execution through final completion.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to Company quality standards.

Employment Terms

Employment Type: Full-Time W-2

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with availability to work weekends when required by business needs.

Compensation

Base Salary: $10,000–$15,000 per month, depending on experience and performance.

Salary will be reviewed every 6 months.

Performance Bonuses:
For each completed contract, you will receive additional compensation calculated based on the total value of each contract. The details of the bonus structure will be reviewed and discussed during the meeting. 

The Company will provide Professional Liability Insurance to protect against claims related to the performance of professional duties within the scope of your role and in accordance with California state law and CSLB requirements.

The Company will also provide equipment, software, communication tools, administrative support, and other resources reasonably necessary for the Employee to perform their duties.

The Company will reimburse reasonable and properly documented business expenses incurred during employment, including vehicle mileage, parking, tolls, travel expenses, approved meal expenses, professional fees, licensing costs, and other pre-approved expenses in accordance with Company policy.
