They are joined by an ambitious and experienced team from American Express, Plaid, and Goldman Sachs. The team is backed by some of the world's leading VCs (Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, etc.) and is supported by an expert group of advisors including the cofounders of Square and Xendit, executives from Intuit, former Governors, White House senior staffers, and a co-founder of CityMD.ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with the CFO, outsourced bookkeeping firm, and senior staff to develop internal control policies and procedures for accounting, cash, and credit managementLeading the transition of all bookkeeping/accounting functions from our outsourced partner and building a GAAP-compliant P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statementPreparing for Nitra's first external audit (2025 or 2026) and coordinating the annual audit processEstablishing financial controls within the accounting department and leading monthly close activitiesSupporting monthly and quarterly investor and lender compliance reportingAssisting in the preparation of annual and monthly operating budgets and collaborating with budget owners to improve financial literacyUtilizing and providing feedback on our in-house expense management platform and managing accounting entries in QuickBooksProducing financial trend analyses and strategic financial reports for the Board of Directors, Finance and Audit Committee, and senior leadershipMonitoring fiscal deadlines and ensuring timely completion of financial reporting requirementsReviewing vendor contracts and providing financial perspective in decision-makingManaging payroll and expense reimbursements, both domestic and internationalSupporting tax reporting and compliance initiativesTaking on additional responsibilities as needed in a fast-paced startup environmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)CPA certification (required)4–7 years of progressive experience in public or private accountingExperience in startups, fintech, credit cards, or healthtechStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and reporting standardsExperience leading audits and building accounting systems from the ground upFamiliarity with QuickBooks and financial reporting toolsHigh attention to detail and the ability to manage competing prioritiesComfort in startup environments, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindsetExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively across teams and functionsA commitment to confidentiality and professionalismBenefitsEquity - Everyone at Nitra is an owner.
