Dental HygienistJericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Dental Hygienist. The option for a flexible 40-hour workweek is possible within certain teams.Responsibilities:Conduct patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressureRemoving calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teethApplying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)Sterilize dental instruments and toolsInstruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and careTake X-rays of patients' teeth and develop them for dentist's useProvide chair-side assistance during dental proceduresRegularly and consistently meet quality and patient care standards established by management.Assist in patient recruitment and growth of clinicPerforming documentation and establishing and maintaining patients' historyChart dental conditions based on dentist's observations and evaluationsAttend continuing education classes to maintain certification requirementsConduct department activities and responsibilities as assigned by the dental director, including administrative and front office support, regulatory checklists and supply orderingQualifications:Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygienist ProgramPossession of licensure to practice as a dental hygienist issued by the New York State Department of Education.At least one year experience in a dental office as a dental hygienist preferred but not mandatoryNew Grads welcome to applyAnesthetic certification preferredRate: $34.00-$38.00 an hour.
