Data Center Assistant Project Manager

HDR is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Minnesota. The team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Site Civil Engineering. This role is focused on Tech/Media/Telecom, Data Centers, and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for executing HDR’s project management tasks including proposal generation, quality control, risk assessment, and on‑time design deliverable execution. The position requires leadership and communication skills that facilitate team collaboration and client engagement. Travel and extended stay at project site locations is required. Responsibilities Coordinate work of single or multi‑discipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle under the supervision of a Project Manager. Manage many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently. Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule. Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate and adjust work effort with the team to keep work within the agreed‑to budget and schedule. Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews. Implement QA/QC procedures. Participate in marketing and project planning and represent HDR to the local industry. Preferred Qualifications PMP certification. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software. Experience designing complex and large‑scale healthcare, laboratory, and/or mission critical data center facilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 5 years of related experience. Ability to interact with various design teams and possess excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
