Director of Children and Family Ministries

Overview Shady Grove United Methodist Church, a vibrant and growing congregation in Glen Allen, VA, seeks a passionate, energetic leader to serve as Director of Children and Family Ministries. This full-time position provides leadership for a large and active ministry including Sunday School, Children’s Own Worship, Vacation Bible School, family events, volunteer development, and more—as part of a collaborative staff team committed to the church’s mission of Belonging, Becoming, and Blessing. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for children and family ministries, including Sunday School, Children’s Own Worship, Vacation Bible School, and family events. Develop, support, and coordinate volunteers and ministry teams. Collaborate with church staff to align programs with the church’s mission and vision. Foster a welcoming environment for children and families and partner with families to nurture faith at home. Qualifications Experience in children and family ministry or a related field. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to recruit and develop volunteers. Effective communication and collaboration with staff, volunteers, and families. Commitment to the values and mission of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $45,000–$50,000, commensurate with experience.
