RN PACU

The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe. The RN provides care to these patients through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and collaboration with other healthcare team members. The RN reports to the assigned Unit Director.

Nursing Process Assessment: Performs assessment and data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner. Focuses on the physiological, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.

Unit Description: Post-anesthesia care unit serves a diverse range of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, neurosurgery, general, thoracic, podiatry, and gastrointestinal procedures. This unit operates as a Level III trauma center. Day-to-day operations involve the post-operative recovery of patients.
