Automotive Service Advisor

Honda Santa Monica is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our team! We are looking for customer‑focused professionals with at least two years of Service Advisor/Writer experience. While automotive dealership experience is preferred, we also welcome candidates with service advising/writing experience from automotive retail environments such as Jiffy Lube, AutoZone, Firestone, Pep Boys, Valvoline, or similar businesses. We are looking for individuals who excel at delivering exceptional customer service, effectively communicating repair recommendations, and creating a positive service experience. Responsibilities The Service Advisor is responsible for ensuring an exemplary experience for the service customer by providing a prompt and friendly greeting, listening to their description of problems or services needed, preparing repair orders, and being proactive, accurate and thorough in communication. The Service Advisor serves as a liaison between the customer and technician, ensuring both parties understand each other’s needs and expectations. Prepare accurate repair orders showing time, cost and labor estimates, verify warranty and service contracts, and review them with clients. Promote the sale of labor, parts and accessories by providing explanations of estimates and obtaining approval for work that is sold. Follow the progress of service repairs and provide customers with timely updates. Ensure high levels of customer service and retention by addressing and resolving customer complaints promptly. Take ownership of the customer’s experience by completing extra tasks that contribute to leaving a positive impression at the dealership. Qualifications Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Service Advisor/Writer, preferably in an automotive dealership environment. Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to clearly explain recommended services and repair needs to customers. Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Compensation The estimated annual earnings for this position are $35,152.00 – $150,000.00 after factoring in all forms of compensation including hourly pay, commission, overtime, etc. Employees in this position will primarily be paid commissions based on performance but will also be paid minimum wage for non‑sales work and for rest periods.
