About the Role
The Company is seeking an EVP, Deputy General Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will serve as a key advisor and strategic partner, overseeing a broad portfolio of legal matters, including executive leadership and corporate governance, litigation and legal process, general legal matters, product, platform, and technology legal support, and employee relations. This role requires a minimum of 12-15 years of legal experience, with a strong background in corporate governance, commercial litigation, and employment law. The EVP, Deputy General Counsel will also be responsible for providing legal guidance on technology and product initiatives, particularly in the areas of fintech and payments. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, be currently licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania or New York, and have a solid understanding of federal and state banking laws. The role demands a leader with proven experience in managing a legal team, strong people-management and mentoring skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a background in handling a variety of legal and regulatory matters, be adept at negotiating and drafting complex legal agreements, and have a commitment to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional project management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
