Software Engineer II

About the CompanyThis venture-backed technology startup is building an enterprise software platform that solves large-scale operational challenges through modern software, AI, and real-time data systems. The company has grown rapidly and is investing heavily in engineering, with technical teams making up the majority of the organization. This is an opportunity to join early enough to have significant product influence while working alongside experienced engineering leaders who have previously built and scaled world-class software platforms. The OpportunityThe engineering team is looking for Software Engineers who enjoy solving difficult distributed systems problems and building products from the ground up.You'll help design and develop core platform capabilities, build scalable backend services, work with real-time data, and create software that directly impacts enterprise customers. This is an environment for engineers who enjoy ownership, ambiguity, and shipping meaningful products rather than maintaining legacy systems. What You'll DoDesign and build scalable software services and APIsDevelop features that leverage real-time data and modern AI capabilitiesSolve challenging problems involving performance, scalability, and distributed systemsCollaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and technical leadershipOwn projects from design through productionHelp shape engineering best practices and platform architectureWhat They're Looking For3+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong experience with Python, Java, or C++Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCPSolid understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and software architectureExperience building scalable SaaS or enterprise softwareBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentWilling to participate in an on-call rotationNice to HaveExperience with AI or machine learning frameworksKafka, Flink, SQL, or NoSQL databasesExperience building large-scale distributed systemsOpen-source contributions or personal software projects demonstrating a passion for building technologyWhy This RoleHigh-impact engineering work with significant ownershipOpportunity to influence architecture and product directionFast-growing engineering organization with substantial investment in product developmentModern technology stack focused on cloud, distributed systems, AI, and real-time dataCompetitive compensation, equity, and benefits
