Specialty Business Manager, Derm - Beverly Hills, CA

Job Description The Dermatology sales force is primarily responsible for driving demand following potential regulatory approval for the assigned product through education. They are responsible for educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts that specialize in the dermatology therapeutic area. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) will demonstrate excellence in developing and applying business processes that benefit patients and lead to the achievement of sales goals and objectives. About the Role The SBM will support account onboarding, engage in clinical selling activities, deliver product value propositions, and coach patients on the safe use of the product. How you will contribute Support account on-boarding through education. Engage in clinical selling activities, including delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand educational continuum. Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff. Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for HCPs, such as peer-to-peer education. Conduct account management activities within dermatology practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices. Attain sales goals by delivering product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory. Establish professional working relationships with healthcare providers’ decision‑makers and support staff to facilitate safe and effective use of the company’s products. Develop and deliver a targeted sales message to HCPs based on accurate clinical information, utilizing approved marketing materials and medical reprints, and discuss therapeutic strategies to inform decision‑makers. Execute marketing strategies at the local level, leveraging resources and collaborating with company team members to enhance business results. Present complex clinical and business information to dermatologists and other professional and patient groups. Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand knowledge among healthcare professionals. Strategically manage allocated resources, including finances, markets, medical affairs, and home office support. Exemplify Takeda’s patient‑first values, uphold compliance policies, and demonstrate leadership and integrity. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications (Required) Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS. 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or relevant clinical or industry experience; or 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda. Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions. Understanding of the managed care landscape and its impact on business. Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills. Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams. Residence within or close proximity to the assigned geography. Preferred Minimum of 5 years’ direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry, or relevant clinical or industry experience. Experience calling on dermatologists highly preferred. Experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues. Training Requirements The position is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations. During training, the employee is classified as non‑exempt and may be eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law; no incentive programs are available during training. After successful training, the employee transitions to exempt status, becomes eligible for incentive programs, and is paid on a bi‑weekly basis. Licenses / Certifications Valid driver’s license. Travel Requirements Ability to drive and/or fly to accounts and occasional business meetings. Some overnight travel may be required (up to 25‑50% of time), depending on geographic assignment. Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: California – Virtual. U.S. hourly wage range: (actual wage may vary by qualifications, experience, and location). Eligible benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with match, short‑term and long‑term disability, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, well‑being benefits, paid sick time (up to 80 hours per year), and paid vacation (new hires accrue up to 120 hours).
