We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Taproom Supervisor to support the daily operations of our new San Francisco Taproom. Working alongside the Taproom Manager, you'll help lead the team during service, ensure smooth shift operations, maintain an exceptional guest experience, and serve as a leader on the floor when the manager is away.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, leads by example, and enjoys coaching and supporting others. You'll oversee day-to-day shift execution, help maintain operational standards, support inventory and staffing needs, and ensure every guest experience reflects the quality and culture of Sonoma Craft (Golden State Cider).

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure breaks and lunches are covered to maintain compliance and operational flow.
• Act as manager-on-duty in the Taproom Manager’s absence.
• Directly supervise leads and bartenders during assigned shifts, when manager is not present.
• Participate in the hiring process in partnership with the Taproom Manager and HR.
• Enforce safety, cleanliness, and sanitation during shifts.
• Communicate staffing issues to the Taproom Manager.
• Perform bartending and guest service duties when needed.
• Support event execution and promotions as directed by the Taproom Manager.
• Gathering taproom supplies for weekly needs from local vendors instructed by the Taproom Manager
• Support inventory management by ordering supplies as needed, verifying and reconciling inventory, and accurately processing all related documentation.
• Assists with scheduling and shift approvals when Taproom Manager is not present
• Manage inventory of batched cocktails, ingredients, and glassware for service.
  
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provides real-time oversight during shifts for leads and bartenders.
• Guides team members during service but defers formal discipline, evaluations, and termination decisions to the Taproom Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in hospitality.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Ability to manage shift flow and coverage effectively and in compliance with CA Labor Laws.
• POS system experience preferred (Square).
• Must be 21+ with valid alcohol service and food handler certifications.
• Must hold a valid California driver’s license.
  
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service certification and Food Handler certification required.
  

Work Environment & Physical requirements

Office Hours/Location:

• This position is based in San Francisco, CA. 
  • Work days and hours are expected to fluctuate during high season, and based on operational needs.
• Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.

• This role is classified as non-exempt
  under California wage and hour laws. This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable state and federal law for hours worked beyond standard work hours, as approved by management.
  

Physical Requirements

• The work environment is primarily that of a taproom and bar service area.
• The employee regularly works in close contact with alcoholic beverages.
• The employee works on floors that may be wet or slippery and around bar equipment.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to cleaning and sanitizing agents.
• The employee must work to maintain a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
• The role requires regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs.
• The employee must be able to tolerate varying noise levels, temperatures, and air quality, including working in both indoor and outdoor service areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Travel Requirements:

• Introductory New Hire Orientation will be at our Head Quarters in Healdsburg CA. 

Compensation range: $24.00 per hour - $26.00 per hour + Tips & $500 Sign on Bonus 
The posted pay range reflects the long-term earning potential for this role. Initial offers are determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors—including experience, education, training, professional certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and performance expectations—and are not made at the top of the range.
