Accounting AnalystSalary: $70,000 - $90,000 per yearLocation: Garden City, New YorkMinimum Degree: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldRelocation Assistance: AvailableJob DescriptionResponsibilities:Accounts Payable:Review and code vendor invoices and ensure proper authorizationEnsure proper sales/use tax is paid and determine 1099 eligibilityInput vendor invoices into Aderant accounting systemProcess vendor payments, obtain signatures for checks and mail out paymentsHandle positive pay exception itemsReview vendor statements and investigate payment inquiriesResearch uncashed checks and reissue as neededReview and process expense reimbursements and invoices in ChromeRiverAssist with annual form 1099 processGeneral Ledger:Process journal entries as neededAssist with matter and employee maintenance in AderantPrepare various monthly account analysis and schedulesAccounts Receivable:Assist with recording incoming wire transfers and check depositsProcess client credit card paymentsInvestigate incoming payments with missing remittance informationEscrow/Trust:Process and record escrow activity according to firm proceduresPrepare weekly escrow activity schedule and reconciliationsPayroll:Input payroll information into Ceridan DayforceReview payroll preview before transmissionBackup for transmitting payrollAssist with annual W-2 reviewOther:Backup for issuing daily cash reportIdentify opportunities for process improvements and efficienciesAd hoc requests and special projectsQualificationsExperience:3+ years of solid accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principlesExperience with Aderant, Chrome River and/or Ceridian Dayforce aplusProficient in Microsoft ExcelProfessional Attributes:Strong work ethicAttention to detailQuick learnerAbility to multitask and prioritizeStrong communication skillsAbility to manage high volume of transactionsWhy is This a Great OpportunityGreat company with a hybrid working environment, in four days and work from home one day a week.Congenial fast-paced environment, competitive salary and benefits.
