Financial Analyst

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance & Accounting Analyst for the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU). This is a full-time, onsite position based in Oakland, CA.



POSITION OVERVIEW


The Finance & Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial operations, reporting, and compliance across CNA/NNU and its affiliated entities. This position partners closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights, support audits, and contribute to organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and prepare detailed reports
• Conduct financial research and trend analysis to support budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close processes
• Lead and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and reporting workflows

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with fund accounting or multi-entity environments preferred
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS


This position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of $124,308 to $130,560, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage for employees and their families, as well as a generous pension plan.
