Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector

Identify modifications to engines, fuel systems, emissions control equipment or other vehicle systems to determine impact of modifications on inspection procedures or conclusions. Monitor or review output from systems and conduct road tests to validate roadworthiness and operation of commercial motor vehicles and follow‑up inspection. Perform inspections on completed work orders and documentation to ensure the final product meets quality standards. Perform vehicle follow‑up inspections. Review DA5988 and DA 5990 and equipment records to detect any problems or to ensure compliance with AR 750‑1. Validate work order flow and review maintenance documents, historical files and inspection records to note trends or recurring discrepancies for initiating corrective action plans. Inspect shop stock to ensure adequate service items are on hand prior to semiannual and annual service. Act as a technical advisor to the Maintenance Supervisor and Shop Lead. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Shop Lead with work order tracking and status updates in GCSS‑ARMY. Monitor the safety and well‑being of employees. Qualifications Eight (8) years minimum of military and civilian commercial vehicle maintenance experience preferred. ASE certification(s) or relevant experience required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines required. Knowledge of GCSS‑Army preferred. Physical Requirements Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. Must be able to push/pull 300+ pounds. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time. Requirements A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A/B. For veterans, must obtain a CDL A/B within 90 days of hire. Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
