Assistant Business Analyst

The Assistant Business Analyst supports operational, financial, and business improvement initiatives across Syntec Optics. This role assists with data collection, reporting, process analysis, and cross-functional coordination to help improve efficiency, support decision-making, and contribute to strategic business objectives. The position works closely with departments including Finance, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Leadership to help analyze business performance and support continuous improvement efforts.

This is an entry-to-mid-level role ideal for an individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in business operations within an advanced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing operational and business data.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and summaries for leadership and department managers.
• Support tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), production metrics, and operational trends.
• Help identify data inconsistencies, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate business records, reports, and documentation.

Business & Operational Support

• Support cross-functional projects related to process improvement, operational efficiency, and business performance.
• Assist with documenting workflows, procedures, and business processes.
• Collaborate with departments to gather information and support business initiatives.
• Help monitor project timelines, action items, and follow-up activities.
• Assist with administrative and coordination tasks related to business operations.

Process Improvement & Strategic Support

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational reviews.
• Assist with analyzing workflow efficiency, resource utilization, and reporting accuracy.
• Support implementation and tracking of process improvements and operational changes.
• Help prepare presentations, meeting materials, and project updates for leadership review.

Systems & Documentation

• Assist with maintaining data within ERP systems, spreadsheets, and internal tracking tools.
• Support system-related reporting and data validation activities.
• Help ensure consistency and accuracy of business information and reporting.
• Maintain organized files, records, and project documentation.

Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to support business objectives.
• Communicate project updates, reporting information, and action items to stakeholders.
• Support meetings by preparing agendas, notes, and follow-up documentation.
• Assist leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

13 years of experience in business analysis, reporting, operations support, administration, or related field preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to organize and analyze data with strong attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, or business analytics software preferred.

Interest or experience in manufacturing, optics, photonics, medical device, aerospace, semiconductor, or advanced technology industries is a plus.
