We are seeking a full-time Network & Systems Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role. We are a Managed Service Provider serving clients throughout the Boston metropolitan area. Our mission is to deliver exceptional IT services to a wide range of businesses, with networks primarily based on the Microsoft Windows platform.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, dependable, and comfortable supporting a wide range of technologies—from desktops and Microsoft 365 to servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless networks. Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to clients remotely and onsite when needed.
• Assist the service desk with escalated and complex technical issues.
• Design, configure, maintain, and document network and server infrastructure.
• Implement and support managed wired and wireless networks.
• Install, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft server, cloud, and virtualized environments.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, and network issues.
• Manage assigned tickets, document work clearly, and communicate progress to clients and team members.
• Collaborate with engineers, service desk technicians, and project managers to meet client needs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support or project work.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant IT support, systems administration, or network engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including domain controllers, Group Policy, permissions, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Hyper-V and virtualized environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and subnetting.
• Experience configuring and supporting routers, firewalls, managed switches, VLANs, and IPsec VPN tunnels.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across workstations, servers, applications, and networks.
• Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• Professional and patient demeanor with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Requirements

• At least one industry-recognized networking certification (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA).
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Availability to participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional onsite client support in the Boston area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
• Additional Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or security certifications.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Previous experience working for a managed service provider.
• Experience with remote monitoring, endpoint management, ticketing, documentation, backup, and cybersecurity platforms.
• Experience supporting hospitality businesses or organizations with multiple locations.
